Adam Gaffney is a practicing pulmonary and critical care physician, and is the president-elect of Physicians for a National Health Program, a leading single-payer advocacy organization. Gaffney has written for a range of publications, including the Washington Post, New Republic, The Guardian, Fortune, Jacobin, the LA Review of Books, Salon, USA Today, CNN.com, US News & World Report, Dissent, In These Times, and elsewhere. Gaffney is a frequent commentator in the media, and has appeared on the BBC World Service, National Public Radio, “The Take” with Susan O’Connell (NECN/NBC), Fusion, Crooked Conversations with John Favreau, and many other outlets. His interviews have appeared in Moyers & Company, Paste Magazine, AlterNet, and Washington Babylon, and his comments have appeared in The Nation, Mother Jones, and various other publications. He has been an author or co-author of academic articles, several of which have been covered by the mainstream media. He lives in Cambridge, MA.
