Jim Hubbard

Jim Hubbard was a staff photographer for the Detroit News and United Press International and has contributed to many publications, including the Washington Post, the New York Times, Newsweek, and Life. In 1989, Hubbard created Shooting Back, an organization dedicated to empowering children at risk by teaching them photography. Shooting Back’s first project concentrated on children living in a homeless shelter in Washington, D.C., and resulted in a traveling exhibition and the book Shooting Back: A Photographic View of Life by Homeless Children. He splits his time between Shooting Back offices in Washington, D.C., and Minneapolis, Minnesota.
