Bulk Orders
The New Press offers discounts (before shipping and tax) on orders of ten copies or more for nonprofits, activists, educational institutions, and other groups. For more information please fill out and submit the form below at least 10 business days in advance of any need-by dates. If you are a bookseller, please contact our distributor Ingram.
Academic Requests
The New Press proudly supports classrooms that foster equity, activism, and understanding through powerful nonfiction.
We now participate in Inclusive Access programs for students through VitalSource and RedShelf. Complimentary digital exam copies are available to educators—just fill out the form below.
You’ll receive your digital copy within one week.
If you require a physical copy, email academic@thenewpress.org with with the subject line: Physical Desk/Exam Copy Request – [Book Title (s)]. Be sure to include the book title, your shipping address, and your university/program details.

International Desk and Exam Copy Requests
For desk and exam copy requests in Canada, please send an e-mail with course title, department, estimated enrollment, mailing address, and, for desk copy requests, confirmation that the book has been ordered through your bookstore, to Codasat at academic@codasat.com.
Please send any other international requests to academic@thenewpress.org and we will direct your request to the appropriate distributor.

Rights & Permission
For permission to reprint copyrighted material from a New Press publication, please complete the permission request form. If you are requesting permission to reprint from two or more of our books, please complete one form per title.
Please note that we cannot grant permission to reproduce material that we have reprinted in our books by permission of another rights holder. It is your responsibility to determine the correct copyright holder using the credit lines and acknowledgments in the book and to apply directly to them for permission.

Submission Guidelines
If you are interested in submitting a book proposal to The New Press, please send a cover letter and short (2-3 page) description to TNPproposals@thenewpress.org. Please review our list of publishing fields first (e.g., criminal justice, education, history, etc.), as we do not accept submissions outside of those. Please also note that we do not accept submissions for works of fiction, and rarely for personal memoir. Owing to the volume of email we receive, we will only reply to those submissions we are able to move forward with.
